Brainstorm
It’s our goal to get to know you so that we can design an event that truly reflects your personality. To do this we ask that you send us images of whatever moves you. It could be a picture of you favorite vacation spot, favorite painting… anything really. We also ask that you send photos of what you don’t like.
With this knowledge, we begin to sketch, pull images that match your taste, and hone in on what your true style is. From there, we develop an inspiration board that becomes the touchstone throughout the design process.
Details
Once the mood is set, we start designing the details that will make up your day. This process is very organic, and often times we find inspiration from a passing joke or story our client tells us. From that point of inspiration, we work closely with you to translate that story or personal detail into a physical object. The goal of creating details is not just to make your wedding “pretty,” but to share with your guests who you are as a couple and as individuals.
In the past, for a couple that adored the beach, we made seashell letters of their first initials, seashell garlands, and a seashell centerpiece that glowed at night. For a couple who loved the retro 60’s vibe of paisley, we had rose petals laid in a paisley pattern for their walk down the aisle.
Production
Once the details have been refined, we purchase the raw materials and create your details in our studio. For one wedding the items produced included: wrapping 200 candles with twine to add a rustic touch, buying and aging terra cotta posts, transplanting succulents into the pots to create seating cards/favors, buying a large piece of plywood which was painted with chalk board paint and used for the seating chart map, sourcing silk in 3 colors for runners and having the table linens made of a muslin. We do these custom touches so that your wedding is not “off the rack,” but a completely handmade, custom, and couture event that is a true reflection of who you are as a couple.
